Which Teleprompter App?

A good teleprompter app must allow you to mirror your text and give you the option of adjusting or controlling the speed of the scroll. Here’s what I recommend: Joe Allen’s Teleprompter Premium, and Drunken Bear Media’s Teleprompter Pro:  both have all the basic tools and are reasonably priced.

  1. I’ve had problems with PromptSmart Pro keeping up. The scroll speeds don’t change on pre-set, and the voice command stops working in mid-recording.

    1. Each app has some pros and cons–some tricks to learn. It took me a few tries to get PromptSmart Pro to work for me, and I had to articulate really well–a few times repeating a sentence to have it continue moving–definitely a downer, if you’re hoping you don’t have to edit. I agree, Julie. A good teleprompter app must allow you to mirror your text and give you the option of adjusting or controlling the speed of the scroll. My preferred app continues to be Joe Allen’s Teleprompter Premium, but Drunken Bear Media’s Teleprompter Pro also has the basic required tools and are reasonably priced. With Teleprompter Premium, I have to space my text well, so I speak at the scroll rate. Usually I set it between 18 & 23.
